READ, THINK and BE ENLIGHTENMENT

The transition between enlightenment and before, means pre – enlightenment is thinking. Thinking is a method of using mind, which is in malay – AKAL.

Why does we need to use our mind? Why must we think hard? The modern era today require us to know why instead of knowing what. Knowing what means we know the content but by knowing why, we know the context. With the power of knowing context, we can manipulate the content.

What happened if we abandon the usage of mind? I guess we will never face revelation. We can’t even breath the joy of knowing the truth. Without questions, without inquiry, we will left behind and just doing the same things like what our ancestor did. We tend to copy, and copy led to repeat. We will repeat the mistake and the biggest mistake is, we didn’t even understand what is the mistake at all, and why it called a mistake at the first place.

Back in the time where the prophet Muhammad in the pressure and in the state of questioning faith, has led him being isolated from the Jahiliah community at that time. Prophet has spend most of his time being alone or we can say that he meditate in order not to escape from the cruelty and immoral scenery by the animalistic community, but to search for an answer. It is not that the prophet has no place in the community but the negative energy from the community has effect many good and kind hearted people at that time. In fact, prophet has being called/ being know as “AL-AMIN” or the trusted one by them at the age of 36. So what is he doing alone in that cave of Hira’. after we knew that why he was there at the first place?

The needs to change the atmosphere is in demand. Trying to search for an answer, think and think and think, has led a repetitious process of ritual at last has enlighten him the truth of the truth. This is the turning point of his life when god has sent His message through an angel named Gabriel.

Surprisingly what is the first word of a new civilization with complex religious understanding emerge a few years later? What is the first word of the holy revelation?

“Proclaim ( or READ ) in the name of your Lord and Cherisher, Who Created ” (1)

Thus, to be contentment in this modern civilization is not just to gain knowledge and become wise. Becoming wise is still an option of choosing between good and evil. What is higher than wise?

The preliminary stages of knowledge process is READ. The next stages is THINK, and the result is ENLIGHTENMENT. But of course, a series of ritual need to be the bridge between thinking and enlightenment. This series of this ritual will always cover us from the evil influence.

It is not a short cut because it is a journey of life.

In the state of enlightenment is the initial stages towards being a complete human.
